Research-tool development:
 The Arrowsmith System -- online interactive unix-based software.
     The purpose of this software is to process and display the output
from searching scientific bibliographic databases in a way that helps
the user to see new useful connections.  Under development since 1987,
a version adapted to free public use was placed on the web in
1997. There are currently two servers, one at the University of
Chicago: kiwi.uchicago.edu and the other at the University of Illinois
- Chicago: arrowsmith.psych.uic.edu

Course areas taught:
    Information retrieval, online search strategies, Medline
searching, scientific literature structures, organization and indexing
of bibliographic databases, literature-based discovery, computer
programming.
